Austin Chacal: His truck is parked nearby and he's got his puppy, Rascal, on a leash while he goes into the park. "Yer lucky Ah've gotta aftahnoon free, boy." The puppy just yips and yaps. Ooh, a squirrel!

Austin Chacal: Rascal tugs on the leash. He wants to go after the squirrel. "Nah..y'cain't hunt heah. They ain't fond o'squirrel bones litterin' th'place." He's practical at least.

Austin Chacal: The puppy tugs again and barks indignantly at Austin. The cowboy merely tilts his hat back a little and gives him a look. "No." Rascal hangs his head, tail drooping. "Mebbe latah..when it gets real late."

Austin Chacal: Seemingly mollified by his master's decree, Rascal happily trots along beside him. "Yanno, Ah was a little worried tha' no one woulda been able t'replace Beau, but..Ah hafta say that yer a real treat, pup." A bit of sentimentality for the puppy.

Austin Chacal: The gentle words are lost on the pup. He's too busy sniffing at a tree. Another dog's been there. He can smell it. After a couple of barks, Austin goes to crouch beside him. "Wha'?"

Austin Chacal: He scritches behind floppy ears only to get licked in return. "Well, y'bettah enjoy this while ya can, yanno? It ain't gonna always be lahke this."

Austin Chacal: A few barks are his only reply. Rascal's just eating up the attention and affection, not that Austin's stingy about giving it to his pup.

Austin Chacal: Another squirrel comes along and Rascal's distracted, trying to drag Austin along with him. "What'd Ah say 'bout squirrels?" Not that his words are any use.

Austin Chacal: He follows after Rascal who is stopped when the squirrel scrambles up a tree. He paws at the tree's base and Austin just chuckles to himself. "Ah toldja."

Jody Yu: She makes her way into Battery Park, hands folded behind her back. The woman has a small, polite smile on her face, eyes roaming around as she makes her way along the paths, quiet and inobtrusive.

Small and innocuous...those would be the first words many would use to describe Jody. Standing at 5’4”, and weighing nary more then 110 pounds, her racially mixed blood is obvious, with a strong hint of Asian features and coloring in her otherwise Caucasion face. Her ebony hair is cut short, making her look much younger then her 32 years of age. She’s dressed in a white button-down shirt, khaki cargo pants, and a comfortable, worn-in pair of hiking boots, with a windbreaker over it all. Her eyes, a bright green with tiny gold flecks in them, carry a note of wisdom beyond her years, worldly knowledge, and just a touch of hesitance. Despite that, she gives a small smile in greeting to all those that she comes across, walking quietly by, barely noticed by those around her, but very aware of them. Austin Chacal: d10: per+alert: 2,3,6,9,7,

Austin Chacal: Despite having to chase after the puppy, he does notice the lovely young lady heading into the park. He tips his hat respectfully at her as Rascal goes to sniff and investigate.

Jody Yu: She smiles a little bit as she sees Austin chasing along after his dog. She nods her head to Austin respectfully and makes her way in that direction.

Austin Chacal: "Rascal, settle down." The puppy barks in protest, but soon comes to heel. Austin's got a way with dogs. "Howdy, ma'am." A nice, lazy drawl.

Jody Yu: "Good afternoon," she says, coming up close, but not so far as to be obtrusive. She gives him a more formal gesture of greeting, a nod that turns into a half-bow. "You have a beautiful dog."

Austin Chacal: "Thank ya. His name's Rascal. M'tryin' t'keep him from killin' squirrels." He explains while the puppy decides to sniff at Jody's shoes with a little whuff.

Jody Yu: "It is his Way," she says with a shrug, dropping down to a crouch to pet Rascal. She looks up at Austin with a courteous smile. "We have been at the same proceedings recently, I believe. I am Jody Yu."

Austin Chacal: Rascal nuzzles her hand and laps at her palm. Austin peers at her curiously for a moment before nodding a little and offering his hand. "M'name's Austin Chacal. An', yeah, it's his way...but Ah ain't runnin' afoul o'th'law 'round tourists. M'gonna bring him back latah t'do some squirrel worryin'."

Sha-Sha: *Perhaps she's a glutton for punishment. Perhaps she's a masochist. But she's here again. Every time she comes to the park trouble follows. But here she is again. Her long black hair has been pulled back into a pony tail. She's wearing a pair of black leather pants and a matching coat. Sunglasses cover her eyes as she wanders away from her bike. Her hands slide into her pockets, it's cool but not cold out. Brisk. She walks with a sure steady pace.*

Jody Yu: She extends her non-tongue-wetted hand up to shake his hand. "A pleasure to meet you, Mr. Chacal." She looks around the park with a blink. "I suppose you are right...there probably are some sort of laws of that sort, aren't there?"

Sha-Sha: d10: Per+alert: 8,6,8,4,

Austin Chacal: "Yeah." A nod and a shrug. "He's jus' tired o'bein' cooped up, I suspect."

Austin Chacal: d10: per+alert: 1,5,2,8,2,

Jody Yu: d10: Per+Alert: 3,1,5,10,10,

Austin Chacal: Puppies are great distractions, aren't they?

Jody Yu: She glances over, noticing someone walking into the park, but little else. A politely amused smile at Austin's coment spreads across her face, and she rises to stand again. "I know the feeling."

Sha-Sha: *Her eyes land on the man, woman and dog and she blinks behind those glasses, pausing in her steps. She pulls them down squinting over to get a better look. Yeah, it could be. She alters her course to join them, pulling off the glasses and tucking them in a pocket. As much as she'd like to hide her slightly bloodshot eyes at the moment, it'd be rude.* Excuse me, miss? Are you Miss Jody Yu?

Austin Chacal: He's surprised by the girl joining them, but Rascal seems perfectly content to investigate the new female. Bark. Bark.

Jody Yu: She turns to face Sha-Sha, looking the girl over breifly with a polite smile before she inclines her head. "Indeed, I am. May I help you?"

Sha-Sha: *She laughs at the dog barking and leans down to pet him briefly.* I'm Sha-Sha, I don't know if you've spoken to Miranda in the last couple of days but she suggested I should speak to you.

Austin Chacal: "Afore Ah ferget mah mannahs, m'Austin' an' hafta get goin'. Ah've a gig t'night."

Sha-Sha: *She nods at Austin with a smile.* A pleasure to meet you. Band gig?

Jody Yu: "Ahh, Miss Okanedo, I assume you to mean?" She smiles to Sha-Sha, and then looks toward Austin. "Good day, Mr. Chacal. Good luck tonight."

Austin Chacal: "Solo. This here's Rascal an' Ah'll catch ya latah." A wink, a tip of the stetson, and he's heading for the exit, Rascal in tow. [I've gotta go home. See you guys later!]

Sha-Sha: ((Later! *wavies* Have fun!)) Have a good day, then. *She smiles, then nods back at Jody.* Yes, that would be her. Do you have time?

Jody Yu: "Of course, Miss Sha-Sha." She folds her hands over her lap, inclining her head. "Should we move somewhere more private to speak?"

Sha-Sha: *She nods.* That would be wonderful, do you have someplace available?

Jody Yu: "Of course...we may speak at the Concerto Club. Or, if you like, there is a Temple in Chinatown that I frequent."

Sha-Sha: Either one. *She smiles* Though you may prefer to be at the Temple afterward, I'm not certain.

Jody Yu: She considers a moment, and then nods. "To the Temple, then. Please, Miss Sha-Sha. Allow me to lead the way." She gestures toward the entrance/exit of Battery, before starting to move that way herself.

Sha-Sha: *She nods and heads towards the exit*

Jody Yu: ((Off to DT Open?))

BUDDHIST TEMPLE

Jody Yu [Buddhist Temple]: Jody leads Sha-Sha to the Mahayana Buddhist Temple is on Canal Street. It's not a particularly grand building...in fact, the outside looks more like an elaborate storefront then a temple, in garish yellow and red with a golden Buddha statues just inside the open outer doors. A second door inside is closed.

Sha-Sha (Chinatown Temple): *She looks around curiously and waits for cues from Jody as to what's proper not wanting to be disrespectful.*

Jody Yu [Buddhist Temple]: She smiles to Sha-Sha and leads the girl inside. The inside is...astoundingly unimpressive, if Sha-Sha was expecting a very traditional style of temple. It looks more converted from a modern building, with a hallway leading to a large room that has a hardwood floor almost remniscent of a basketball court, but for the lack of free-throw lines and the like. A very, very long table dominates the center, with chairs around it. A very large statue sits along the back wall. Past the table and statue Jody walks, giving a respectful bow to the Asian man in his mid-thirties who sits at a table. She's heading toward a side door.

Sha-Sha (Chinatown Temple): *Sha bows at the man as well, following Jody, odd temple indeed.*

Jody Yu [Buddhist Temple]: The door leads to a small, candle-lit room, about 10 feet by 10 feet. Theres a small altar in the room, and a couple comfortable pillows on the floor. Jody steps in and kneels next to the alter inside, lighting incense. Next to the altar is rolls of silk, a calligraphy set, and a wand that looks to have been fashioned out of a human femur, and a folded set of traditional orange robes. "If you would close the door, Miss Sha-Sha?" ((Per+Awareness))

Sha-Sha (Chinatown Temple): d10: Per+aware: 9,3,4,8,

Sha-Sha (Chinatown Temple): *She closes the door behind her, carefully. She looks around. Normally, she'd take the wand in stride but she's been jumpy lately and she raises an eyebrow at it.*

Jody Yu [Buddhist Temple]: Sha-Sha can feel the quintessence flow emanating from the room; the place is connected to or is a Node. The area has a strong feel of contemplation to it. Jody leans back from the altar and looks up, noting the Euthanatos's attention directed to the wand. A small smile hits her face, respectful and courteous. "My Way of accessing the Shen," she says with a shrug, as she takes the lotus position on one of the pillows. "What may I do for you, Miss Sha-Sha?"

Sha-Sha (Chinatown Temple): Ahh, *She nods a little, though she's not quite sure what Shen means. She sits carefully, back straight, a place like this making her feel formal.* I ran into a man who, it has been suggested, may be a hedge mage or sorcerer but he doesn't seem to know a great deal about the way things work. I discovered him as he was trying to draw off my "negative emotions," chi he called it though it wasn't my quintessence. Or at least it didn't feel like it when he tried. He came up against my mind shielding, and while being blocked had no idea I would have sensed it until I dragged him off to a private location to chew his ear off for it. He immediately got down on his knees bowing and begging forgiveness saying he had lost face by doing his thing to a priestess. I got him up and after some conversation warned him off of doing such things to random people as it was not safe and told him I would look for someone to help him better understand things. He's not from America, he mentioned being sentenced to death by "The Party" and he works here in Chinatown. The impression I got was that he was speaking of the Technocracy. But it was also suggested he might have meant the Communist party. Either way, it seems likely that he may be from China though I wasn't of a mind to check at the time. My honest feeling is that he would be a great help to whomever he works with he just needs some training which I know I will not be able to give. I know you are among the Neutrals in this city, but my understanding is that you may be the best person to help him if you would wish it.

Jody Yu [Buddhist Temple]: She nods, listening calmly to Sha-Sha's story. "I see. This is certainly something I may be able to provide this individual with aid, to some degree, at least. My Neutrality is such that it prevents me from providing aid or succor to any member of the Treaty, or any Awakened individual. If he is unawakened, as you say, it does not breach my Neutrailty to do so."

Sha-Sha (Chinatown Temple): *She nods* He is not awakened, I do not believe. I did not verify that with my own skills but it did not feel the same. I'm not sure how else to put it. He doesn't have a phone number but he works in a buffet here. (Player is blanking on the name Golden something Buffet?)) He also gave me his address and permission to pass both over to you. He also stated that he could meet you at his home or, if you come when the restaurant is closing, he is the one who closes it so that likely would be safe as well.

Jody Yu [Buddhist Temple]: She gives a short nod, and smiles. "Of course. I will be happy to meet him at either location. Thank you, Miss Sha-Sha, for bringing this to my attention. I will endeavor to do what I can in order to help this person. What is their name, if I may ask?"

Sha-Sha (Chinatown Temple): *She smacks her forehead* My apologies. His name is Kwan Lo.

Jody Yu [Buddhist Temple]: She smiles warmly. "No apology necessary, Miss Sha-Sha. You had a wealth of information to present...it is easy to let a detail or two slip by." The cross-legged Akashic gives Sha-Sha a nod. "I will speak with Kwan Lo at my earliest opportunity."

Sha-Sha (Chinatown Temple): *She nods and smiles. That's one problem that was relatively easy to solve. It's quite a relief at that actually.* Thank you Miss, Yu.

Jody Yu [Buddhist Temple]: "Of course." She smiles and bows her head. "Anything I can do to help."

Sha-Sha (Chinatown Temple): *She laughs softly and nods, she gives over the addresses.* Now, I wont take up any more of your time, then. Thank you again.

Jody Yu [Buddhist Temple]: She takes the address and slips it into her pockets, then rises fluidly to her feet. "You are welcome. Please, give Miss Okanedo my regards...and Miss Braun and Miss Morgan, if you see her. I must confess to being concerned about her after the Tribunal."

Sha-Sha (Chinatown Temple): Michelle? She seemed to be doing alright when I met her. *She tilts her head.* I was not here for the Tribunal, I do not know a lot of what went on.

Jody Yu [Buddhist Temple]: She nods. "I think you are fortunate in that. It was an example of exactly how Tradition justice should be enforced. And no one should have to witness such a thing."

Sha-Sha (Chinatown Temple): *She nods a little and sighs.* Have a good day Miss Yu. *And she heads out.*

Jody Yu [Buddhist Temple]: "You as well, Miss Sha-Sha. May your Way prove fruitful." She lets the woman leave, closing the door after Sha-Sha. The Euthanatos is unaccosted on the way out.

Sha-Sha (Chinatown Temple): (( And Fade! Thanks for the scene! *G*))

Jody Yu [Buddhist Temple]: ((Any time. *S*))
