Sha-Sha: *She's wearing a pair of tight leather pants and a velvet blouse with small satin gothic crosses all over it. All in black. The dart pendant is there. Along with the leather jacket with the dart flying towards a board on the back. Matching the Ducati in the parking lot and the helmet locked to it. She's walking along one of the paths rather aimlessly.*

Griffen "Aconite" Aston: He sits at a bench, a leather-bound organizer open as he scribbles notes in it. Sunday is an excellent day for him to visit public places...many people are in church. Less people for him to deal with. Even in his relaxed state, there's a a stern look on his angular, hawk-nosed face. His hair is a rich brown, hanging slightly wavy to his shoulders, and his deep brown eyes  focus on the paper impassively. He's dressed in a simple green lace-up shirt and natural fiber pants with a pair of Doc Martins on his feet, and a simple silver pentacle around his neck. No cell phones, no technology...just a canvas backpack resting next to him. He appears to be in his late thirties.

Sha-Sha: *Of all of the benches she could choose in the park, he'll likely wonder why she chose his but she does. She sits on it and pulls one leg up, her heel resting on the edge as she rests for a moment.*

Griffen "Aconite" Aston: He looks over as she takes a seat on the bench, those brown eyes observing her for a moment. His lips quirk slightly, just momentarily, and he nods to her. "Hello."

Sha-Sha: *She turns her head slowly to look over at him, then she nods politely.* Hello.

Griffen "Aconite" Aston: "Excellent day, is it not?" That's an attempt at conversation for the man, as he goes back to jotting in the organizer. Red pen.

Sha-Sha: Mm...I suppose if you like gloomy overcast days. *She laughs softly at herself at that. A girl in gothic get up having issue with gloomy weather, it's an amusing thought.*

Griffen "Aconite" Aston: "I do," he says with a slight nod, continuing his work for a moment before he looks up and around the area, at the relatively scant amount of people. "I merely meant...it's quiet."

Sha-Sha: *She looks over at him again* Don't like people much?

Griffen "Aconite" Aston: "I like...nature." He leans back and sighs a bit, rubbing at his eyes and settle the pen down. "People get in the way of nature more often then they complement it. Persons, I like. People, I do not."

Sha-Sha: Hmm, I like animals well enough but the wilds...I do not think I'd do well...

Griffen "Aconite" Aston: "Most people would not," he says with a shrug. "It is the way of the modern world. Were we to suddenly exist in simpler times, there would be a bit of a reckoning."

Sha-Sha: Then I hope it does not come soon.

Griffen "Aconite" Aston: "Better that then the inevitable march to oblivion." He regards her calmly.

Sha-Sha: Oblivion? *She raises her brows* If it is so inevitable, then a reckoning would not stop it only, perhaps, delay it.

Griffen "Aconite" Aston: He manages a mirthless smile. "You misunderstand. It is inevitable only because of the path we are currently on."

Sha-Sha: But that path changes every day. Destroying billions of people simply because they were not lucky enough to be taught how to live? What makes those who were taught better than though who were not?

Griffen "Aconite" Aston: "Some things are necessary for life to continue." He looks over at her, regarding her with that impassive expression. "It does not make them pleasant, and it does not make them good. It merely makes them...fact."

Sha-Sha: Some things, but not that necessarily. All will die eventually, everything in it's turn. *She shrugs*

Griffen "Aconite" Aston: He gives another emotionless smile, and shrugs. "We argue different sides of the same coin. Regardless...if the world will continue, we must change much quicker then what infinitesemal nudges occur every day. Nothing so minor will keep this place from the hell it is heading toward."

Sha-Sha: How can you be so certain of that?

Griffen "Aconite" Aston: "Because I look and I see. I listen and hear. And I hear the world crying out in pain, I see it bleed from what we are doing to it. The wounds we are striking into her, no little band-aid will fix."

Sha-Sha: But the destruction of humanity would wound her futher, perhaps even fatally with what it would take.

Griffen "Aconite" Aston: "You assume that this will end in the destruction of all, and in war."

Sha-Sha: How else would it end? *She tilts her head*

Griffen "Aconite" Aston: "What happens when anything is attacked so greviously as we have attacked her?"

Sha-Sha: Not all things react the same. Some curl up and wait to die, others fight back, still others come back for more.

Griffen "Aconite" Aston: He nods a little bit, smiling once more. "She is no victim...she does not love the pain. She is not weak, she will not let us continue. She will defend herself."

Sha-Sha: Then your reckoning will come and that is the inevitable rather than oblivion...and nothing is needed for us to do but hope we survive?

Griffen "Aconite" Aston: "I did not say that," he says with a shrug. "I am no prophet, Miss. I merely know what my eyes see. How it will happen, and what we must do, I do not know. But I am sure, if we keep our eyes open, we will see the signs."

Sha-Sha: I am beginning to think that it is this city that does this to people. *She shakes her head.* I've been a lot of places and this...*She shakes her head* seems to be the worst on people.

Griffen "Aconite" Aston: He shrugs a little bit. "I have been many places as well. This city is one of the worst for that, yes. Most cities, though, have that effect, it seems. It is their nature."

Sha-Sha: *Her eyes move to the ground and she rests her chin on that knee with a sad sigh.* Perhaps they bring out the worst there is...

Griffen "Aconite" Aston: "Perhaps." He nods. "Civilization, it seems, is an overrated word." He looks at her with that even expression. "What do you do?"

Sha-Sha: I...Mmm...float, I suppose. *Still looking at whatever point on the ground she'd fixated on.* You? *Then she looks up at him*

Griffen "Aconite" Aston: "I teach and lecture on environmental ethics at Columbia University." He gestures to the organizer, tilting it her way so she can see...he was grading an essay, it seems. From the amount of red all over it...it's not getting as very good grade.

Sha-Sha: Passionate about your job, I see. *A faint smile*

Griffen "Aconite" Aston: "I am." He nods and shuts the oranizer. "And intolerant of idiocy, thus the essay."

Sha-Sha: *She laughs* There are some men I would love for you to meet, *She sighs.* Ahh but they wouldn't listen anyway. *She shakes her head.* Pity, too.

Griffen "Aconite" Aston: "Most do not." He nods calmly. "They are concerned about the here and now. The them. What they can do or what they can get. They do not think beyond that."

Sha-Sha: *She sighs and nods again*

Griffen "Aconite" Aston: He takes a deep breath and looks around the area. "I assume, then, that you are not from here, from the way you speak."

Sha-Sha: *She shakes her head.* Kansas.

Griffen "Aconite" Aston: "Kansas." He nods to that. "I have been there...a long time ago, and briefly. I...somewhat enjoyed it, I suppose."

Sha-Sha: *She looks over at him, a carefully guarded look.* How long ago?

Griffen "Aconite" Aston: "About..." He pauses, considering. "10 years ago, perhaps?"

Sha-Sha: *A soft laugh* Oh, a long time ago indeed. *A sad smile.*

Griffen "Aconite" Aston: He nods a little bit. "10 years can seem like a lifetime."

Sha-Sha: Even half that or less can depending on what occurs.

Griffen "Aconite" Aston: "True enough." A brief instant of empathy hits his eyes...understanding, perhaps. Maybe he can relate. He sighs and zips the organizer up and then slips it into his backpack. "Perhaps, if you wish to stop floating, you could try attending some classes at the University."

Sha-Sha: *She looks up at him, another sad smile.* I have to get a diploma, or equivalent, at least, first. It's just never seemed that important. *She sighs a bit*

Griffen "Aconite" Aston: "And floating is?" A slight quirk of his eyebrow. He's not being insulting, at least, it doesn't seem as if he is on purpose. Just making a point.

Sha-Sha: It's...*She shrugs a bit* Perhaps it's not as painful. *She lets her foot drop and stands as well, pausing for a moment longer.* I'll...keep it in mind. *She blinks and offers a hand.* I'm Sha by the way.

Griffen "Aconite" Aston: He takes the offered hand and shakes it. "Griffen Aston."

Sha-Sha: *She tilts her head.* Interesting name. It was a pleasure meeting you Griffen, thank you for the lovely conversation. *With that, she nods and heads towards the parking lot.*

Griffen "Aconite" Aston: "Good day to you, Miss Sha." He watches her leave before rising himself, to head back to campus.

Sha-Sha: *She heads to her bike, obviously well loved, and takes off after putting on the helmet.*
