Eddie: *wanders into the cafe and looks about before
heading to the counter to chat for a few with the barista. it's slow tonight, for now*
Troy Lawrence: He approaches the cafe with a driven
yet even pace, ever the image of propriety and superiority. His suit is set in place, his
hair combed perfectly, and a pair of sunglasses rests on his face over the Dunhill he's
smoking.
Eddie: *chuckles softly at the young woman's wry
joke, glancing toward the door* yeah, waiting for someone. *chuckles* and hope he ain't
too offput by a tank top and these pants.
Eddie: *which are laced up the sides from the tops
of her boots to her hips, with cording in stark white to match the tank. they look
well-lived in, these jeans of hers*
Troy Lawrence: The cigarette is stubbed out, then
door swings open and he walks in, pulling the sunglasses off his face as he looks around
the cafe. His eyes fall on Eddie and he nods, approaching.
Eddie: *pushes up off the counter and flashes him a
cheerful grin, chuckling at the barista's low-voiced and appreciative comment concerning
the man* hey, Troy. thanks for meeting me here. know you're busy. i recommend that
table--it's my usual. *one near the back. and currently, no-one at the nearest tables*
Cath, i'd like to have some lemonade today for change, please? thanks!
Troy Lawrence: He folds the sunglasses, nodding to
Eddie. "If you prefer." A dismissive glance goes to the barista. "Double
shot Americano, please." He looks briefly up at the menu and drops enough money down
for the drink and a 15% tip.
Eddie: *the woman chuckles and pours him the coffee*
s'ok. she told us to put it on her bill. *Eddie, already drifting toward the table,
flashes a cheeky sort of grin* my invite, my bill. *settles down comfortably. and the
drinks soon arrive. witha plate of fresh-baked cookies*
Troy Lawrence: A raised eyebrow, and he nods, taking
the money back with a nod to the woman behind the counter before moving to seat himself.
He takes the coffee when brought, doesn't take a cookie. He regards Eddie for a moment,
managing to break a smile. "So. How are you?"
Eddie: *ponders* eh, missing not being able to go
into the Park, but otherwise good. tried to call you last night, but i must've put your
number in wrong. kept getting some Chinese lady. lucky i'd written it down. anyway. Josh
and me and someone else got up last night and chatted about our upcoming group trip. got a
couple of new additions....and since you're leader by default, you should know about them.
*nibbles a cookie, a brief look of bliss traveling across her pretty face*
Troy Lawrence: He nods, sipping his coffee, then
laces his fingers together, resting his forearms on the table. "By all means. Inform
away."
Eddie: Warren. when we *faintest pause as she
translates to public-ese* split up to tour different parts of the place, he's good for
going with Lai's group. and another guy who don't quite fit in, but he's prolly good for
staying on top of things and keeping an eye out. he's good for making sure anyone who
decides to try and mess up our program from the rear gets noticed and told to back off.
firmly told.
Troy Lawrence: He frowns, as if he's heard that name
somewhere, before it becomes clear. "Ahh. The charach." He says the word with a
clear edge of distaste, but he nods.
Eddie: *gives him a wry grin* he's not the only one,
though. anyway. i figure Bri can stay outside while Merc and i explore and you co-ordinate
so we dun get our tails in a tangle. maybe farther back, if he's cool with that. *lowers
her voice* he's tough, he's not going to get squeamish, and he's trustworthy. and
heck...we need another shooter out there. someone who can kick ass, cuz i'm not good at it
yet, seriously. do my best, duh, but i need a lot more practice and i know it.
Troy Lawrence: "Bri?" He furrows his brow.
"Who do you mean by that?"
Eddie: *still keeping her voice well down, even
leaning over the table just a bit* Brian. my karate teacher. Lai knows him pretty well,
too. he's Kin, which is why Josh suggested a sniper's post for him. we do need more
backup, he's ace with a gun, and keeping him back'd keep him closer to being out of harm's
way then right there in on everything. he can also watch for cops and any escapees.
: ((You people REALLY need to quit trying to TELL the
kin what to do. *L* Makes life a LOT easier.))
Troy Lawrence: He nods. "Perhaps he will
work." He puts his atache case on the table, flipping it open and pulling out a legal
pad. "All right, then. So we have Laidan, Warren, and you on one side of...the wall,
and Joshua, Mercury, and Brian on the other side. With myself coordinating between.
Possibly Amy Silverthorne with Mercury's team as well, if she is still interested, as I
hope she is." He scribbles it all down efficiently.
Troy Lawrence: ((Yeah, we've discussed how well
that'll go over, haven't we, Breeder? *G*))
: ((You try that staredown shit again...you are losing
an eye. *L*))
: ((The Laidan player points out that JOSHUA was
supposed to go with Laidan. Or so she thought >.>))
Eddie: mmm, i hope so. ditto hoping Amy'll come
along. she's cool.
Troy Lawrence: ((Yeah, whatever. *Pfft* ;) ))
: ((Okay boys, zip your pants back up now...))
Eddie: ((*L* you're right. )) mmm, wait a
minute......switch Merc and Josh. Lai's more familiar with Josh, and i'm more familiar
with Merc. both teams should work much better taht way.
Troy Lawrence: ((Yes, but Joshua has as much chance
of making it into the Umbra as...well, not much. With Warren, there's maybe a better
chance...flexibility of plan is good.)) He nods, smiling a bit. "She is a Silver
Fang. She will perform admirably, if she is available."
Troy Lawrence: He shakes his head, writing.
"You'll note, Eddie, I have placed both Joshua and Mercury on this side of the Wall,
tentatively. Simply because both have expressed difficulty making it through the Wall, and
thus, perhaps they are better suited to this side. Everything is changable, of course.
It's not set in stone."
Eddie: hrm.....you know, a thought just occured to
me. might be good for you to talk to Bri directly, so he can tell y9ou himself what-all he
can do. that's something we need to know, again so nobody gets their tails tangled. *takes
out her phone* gonna see if he can maybe come right now, if that's cool.
Troy Lawrence: ((For the record, on a 30 minute
window atm.)) He nods, sipping his coffee. "All right."
Eddie: *wry grin* point. hrm....think i should
practice climbing the wall beforehand? haven't done it too much so far. *raises a calm
brow*
Troy Lawrence: "It may be a good idea to do so,
yes. Get in the habit."
Eddie: *nods cheerfully as she dials. as the phone
rings* will do. *grins widely at the thought* oh, Briiiiian...answer your
phooooone..*mutters under her breath. not directly into the mouthpiece, of course*
Troy Lawrence: He waits, patiently, for Eddie to get
off the phone, sipping his coffee.
Eddie: he's coming. sez he's across the street--must
be jogging. *preety face nuetral*
Troy Lawrence: "Excellent." He makes a
half-smile.
Eddie: *chuckles softly and chews into another
cookie.* so, for now....me, Lai, and Warren. you tag both. and then Merc, Bri, and Josh,
maybe Amy. have i got it straight now?
Brian McKenzie: *enters the cafe, dark blue eyes flick
around and lock on Eddie, he strolls over to the table* Evening. ((And if Lai comes in he
has his arm around her as well))
Eddie: *dual eyes drift toward the door* mmm, Josh
sez he'd like us to do this before the next full moon. Warren and i both concur.
Troy Lawrence: "Correct, barring new
information." He nods. "It is the most logical course of action. Sokol will be
able to tell me what is occurring with your team, and I can switch over if
necessary."
Troy Lawrence: He turns, looking Brian's way. Not a
flicker of emotion shows on his face toward the Kinfolk, despite their earlier
interaction.
Brian McKenzie: *his demeanor is of pure
professionalism as he takes a seat* Troy right? I'm Brian. I hear you are organizing this
little shindig.
Eddie: *raises her glass to Brian* hey, tell Cathy
whatcha wanna drink on the way, if ya want something. and sips*
Troy Lawrence: He nods. "I am. If your skills
are what I've been told, I'm glad to have you aboard."
Brian McKenzie: *gets a water on the way, kills it, and
gets another*
Eddie: *chews another cookie as she listens for a
few, waving Cathy off with a smile*
Eddie: *grins to Troy* tell you straight up, Brian
can kick my ass. *perfectly serious, although she remains cheerful*
Brian McKenzie: *looks around, sees they are pretty
isolated and leans forward a tad, speaking very quietly* I have ten years training doing
exactly what you are wanting to do. Planning, implementation, and training.
Well....*scratches at his chin* Against normal folks I do.
Brian McKenzie: *glances over at Eddie* I should hope
so. I would make a pretty bad teacher if I couldn't. *half grins at her*
Eddie: *chuckles to him and nods* and you, sir, are
a damn fine teacher.
Troy Lawrence: He nods, smiling a touch.
"Excellent. Has the situation been properly explained to you, as to what we are
facing?"
Brian McKenzie: *inclines head* I have good students.
Which is why I want to keep them coming back in one piece.
Brian McKenzie: Yes. But I won't be able to stay at a
distance. I do not have the proper equipment. However, I am not overly insane either. I
will be better on point until we reach the location. Once there, I will take up a position
behind the ingress group and support.
Eddie: *inclines her head back, grinning cheerfully.
you know....oddly enough things are lots cooler between them now then when they first met.
it rocks* we all try, sensei. mmmm....Troy, i told him what i could, but i'm a novice. you
can prolly offer a great deal more insight then i was able to.
Laidan: Silly Theruges, always distracted by
something. She slides in not long after Brian, drifting over to the appropriate table.
Troy Lawrence: He raises an eyebrow to that.
"Point? And potentially be eliminated by traps in the way? Excuse me for saying...I
understand you are quite the combat specialist...but you are hardly more durable then, by
example, Joshua or Mercury, who you will be working with."
Eddie: *bites her lip to hold back a comment. right
now, this's Brian's fight. her role is support, if he needs it.*
Brian McKenzie: *glances at Laidan* Soldiers fight and
die Troy. Especially if we have something to believe in. *looks back at the man* Plus, as
one of the Berets, this is what we did. Once at the house, the others will be in front to
take care of any fuzzy complications. While I see how vulnerable their heads are.
Laidan: "I'd prefer no death." Its a faint
murmur, the woman moving to stand behind Brian, head cocked curiously.
Laidan: 8,8,4,2,5,9,8,
Brian McKenzie: *pulls her around and sets her on his
leg* Me too Lai. That is always the first priority.
Laidan: "Hello Eddie, Hello Mr. Lawrence."
Eddie: hey, Laidan. cookie? *picks one up. she'll
either eat it or hand it over Bri to Lai*
Troy Lawrence: ((Guys, I hate to do this, but my
previously mentioned 30 is almost up. *Headdesk*)) He considers the Kin's words, then
nods. "All right. If you believe you can serve best by leading the team in, I will
certainly consider it. I merely wish to keep this at a minimum of casualties on our side,
Brian. Soliders fight and die, but that second is not a necessity."
Laidan: She allows the leading, tilting her head
faintly. "You... really should be on point then. Be just behind point maybe, but not
point."
Brian McKenzie: I hear that there is a truck that needs
to go away. I may have a way to take care of that as well.
Eddie: *gives a mental whoop of glee, carefully
keeping the emotion off her face. Brian did it!*
Laidan: "We should find out what's in the truck
too." She nods, but she's obviously agreeing with both Brian and Troy.
Troy Lawrence: Hmm. Tne kin has chosen a metis.
Unfortunate. None of this shows on his face, though, merely regarding the two for a
moment, before he nods. "Laidan." His cell phone buzzes, and he looks at it with
a sigh.
Brian McKenzie: *looks around at the group* Trust me. I
know how to fade back when needed. Plus, if there is any security outside, I can get
behind it and take it out nice and quiet like. *looks at Troy* And if possible, I would
like to see a floorplan of where we are going and what potential force is within.
Eddie: ((*hugs* mrp! thank you for being here while
you could, though. *G*)) *blinks at Brian and grins widely.* coooool. i know i ain't got
accesss to anything that might help with that.
Brian McKenzie: I do not know if she will, but I will
ask.
Laidan: "Yes?" She tilts her head towards
Troy,
Brian McKenzie: *murmurs* I believe he was just saying
hello.
Troy Lawrence: "I will try to secure blueprints
through City Hall." He nods, then puts his phone back on his belt, putting the legal
pad in the attache case. "My apologies to you all...work calls. Fighting our mutual
enemies in other, less flagrant but sometimes more brutal ways." A bit of a smile,
and he shuts the attache case. "I will be in touch with you all for final
assignments."
Eddie: mmm, Troy, i got a basic floorplan sketched
out at my place. so if you guys, Brian, Laidan, want to drop by, i'll show you what i got.
and maybe we can do lunch or something and get the plans you got, if that's cool.
Laidan: "Oh." She smiles a little
sheepishly and ducks her head.
Brian McKenzie: *he nods at Troy* Eddie can bring me
anything you find out.
Brian McKenzie: *glances at Eddie* Sounds good.
Eddie: *grins at Troy* cool deal. awesome....things
seem to be starting to perc. *tries to cover her anxiety*
Laidan: "Mmm. You'll have to describe the plans
to me." A little nod.
Brian McKenzie: Not a problem Lai.
Troy Lawrence: "Good plan, Eddie." He
slides out of the booth, finishing his coffee. "Good day to you all." With a
nod, he heads out.
Laidan: "Goodnight, Mr. Lawrence."
Brian McKenzie: *drums fingers on the table as he
thinks* What floor is this on? General description of the exterior?
Troy Lawrence: ((Yay! No blood or even
insults...that's PROGRESS!! *G* See y'all later, thanks for the RP!))
