Ingvar Urgahaldt: ((delete the last
"*"))
Ingvar Urgahaldt: You are welcome. *He re-
takes the seat.* Why do you owe the building chiminage, Silkie?
Silkie: Blows on it. "I don't mind trying
to clean, but.... I don't have much cleaning experience. I'm worried if I do it
wrong it'll be more mad at me. I used to talk with the building all the time, we
were friends." Sounding a little sad.
Silkie: "I brought Sparkle and Tansy over.
Angela said I could have a room. We just wanted to play some music and dance,
but it got mad because Tansy's a namer and it said Sparkle was a spy."
Ingvar Urgahaldt: Who is sparkle? *He
frowns a bit.* Yes.. Silkie in future bringing anyone here will need to be
cleared in advance with one of us. This is one of only a handful of places we
can truly regard as our own. You see the significance of territory, yes?
Reyna Varinia Reiruno: "By spy, the
building meant 'non-approved shifter,'" she adds between bites.
Silkie: "The building said it was a grotto
and I had desecrated it. I don't think Tansy would have tried to hurt it, but...
it was pretty mad. It said it was gonna kill us, and the elevator started to
fall and do things. If Reyna hadn't come, I think maybe it would have killed
us."
Ingvar Urgahaldt: *He nods to Reyna's
clarification.* Thank you. In this case, certainly tell me who SParkle would be.
Silkie: "Do you know Dara?"
Ingvar Urgahaldt: *He raises his head at
this.* Yes. A rather fortunate person to have around, if we take advantage of
this.
Silkie: "I don't think she'll ever come
here again. Dara is Sparkle. That's her special name."
Ingvar Urgahaldt: Apparently not, if the
building has anything to say about it. By the way.. what is this I am hearing
about the KR belonging to the general of the Dragons?
Reyna Varinia Reiruno: She nods. "I doubt
either of them will be stopping by. They were both pretty understandably
spooked."
Silkie: "I thought it might be tainted and
I tried to lick it, but it hurt me. Could it be tainted?"
Reyna Varinia Reiruno: She nods. "General
Sato owns the building now, apparently."
Ingvar Urgahaldt: He bought it or...
something? *He looks mildly confused.*
Ingvar Urgahaldt: *He shakes his head to
Silkie.* Likely it simply thought you were attacking it.
Reyna Varinia Reiruno: "I don't know if he
bought it. He controls it now, though. The building's spirit has changed since
he did take over."
Ingvar Urgahaldt: *This brings a mild
frown.* Then.. do you think it is safe for us to speak so freely?
Reyna Varinia Reiruno: She nods. "I trust
Jinchiro, Ingvar. Otherwise, I'd have moved out of the K-R by now."
Reyna Varinia Reiruno: "We are talking
about Okami's uncle, after all. And the Courts aren't our enemies. We're part of
them. Just because some of them are corrupt doesn't mean Jinchiro is. He's a
good man."
Ingvar Urgahaldt: *He nods* very well
then. I have had little opportunity to speak with him. Does he require that we
speak with him through Okami, or is this something we will be at liberty to
change once we have delt with the Elders problem?
Ingvar Urgahaldt: I know we are. I was not
asking due to anything other than confusion. I had though the building was
Malcom's. That is all.
Silkie: *Munches her lasagna, listening.*
Reyna Varinia Reiruno: She nods, not
taking any offense. "I had a meeting with him last week. Discussed the Adam
situation with him, and the courts. Which reminds me..." She falls into thinking
for a moment.
Ingvar Urgahaldt: *He cants his head
slightly, listening.*
Reyna Varinia Reiruno: She looks at him.
"It probably doesn't matter now, but we were discussing the Adam situation, and
he asked what how I would propose to fix it. I said that I had hoped someone
with more familiarity with the politics of the Courts might have some advice.
And then he made a reference to something...about a sticky business, and walking
the threads of a thin line." She frowns. "It sounded like an obviously veiled
spider reference to me, so I tested it, using the words 'webs' in my response.
He seemed to agree. It's either a Spider reference, or a more literal reference
to spiders, or at least spider spirits."
Silkie: ((I need to go to bed, could
someone log what I miss?))
Silkie: ((Silkie will stay and listen, but
doesn't want to sleep here. She'll leave when the talk is done.))
Ingvar Urgahaldt: Another fine reason
to cleanse Dream as soon as possible... So. Spiders. Which could potentally
refer to either the individual, Spyder, or to the extent of the infection of
this Bane.. so he would mean possibly that there is no favorable outcome where
Adam is concerned beyond cleansing the Elders..
Silkie: ((Thanks! *hugs all around and
free kisses and such* Good night!))
Ingvar Urgahaldt: ((see you later
Silk-p.*G*))
Reyna Varinia Reiruno: She raises her
yebrow. "I was thinking more he was talking about THE Spider...what you guys
call the Weaver. I don't get the complete lack of a good outcome for Adam,
though."
Ingvar Urgahaldt: Until cleansed, they
will likely only consider an outcome that crushes Adam completely. That is what
I meant.
Ingvar Urgahaldt: So.. where then, would
~the~ Weaver come into a discussion about Adam? *He laces his hands together,
back straight, as he looks into a middle distance.*
Reyna Varinia Reiruno: She nods. "I can
see that from the others. Jinchiro really seemed to want to help, though. He's
no happier over Adam's persecution then we are, though he's honor-bound to
adhere to the terms of the punishment. I didn't like much of what he said, but I
understoof it, and defintely don't blame him for it."
Ingvar Urgahaldt: You know. *He cants an
eyebrow* It does not make it easier that Angelia and I are as well. This also is
a sore point for his continued freedom. This trap will allow us to submit to our
duty and allow him a chance to escape at the same time.
Reyna Varinia Reiruno: "As to where Spider
comes in..." She frowns. "I don't know. It's got to be significant... especially
since he mention the algorithm immediately after. I just am having trouble
figuring how."
Ingvar Urgahaldt: When I use Atma... the
influence of the algorythm manifests as small purple spiders crawling about an
invisible web. The essence of the bane is not actually that of the Wyrm- but of
the Weaver only.
Reyna Varinia Reiruno: She nods. "I know.
Belive me, much as I don't like it, Ingvar, I'm not contesting the plan, because
it's the best option, I think."
Ingvar Urgahaldt: *He nods, perhaps a
touch of deference coloring the look.* Would you like to talk about it? I may be
able to make up in sincerity what I lack in empathy.. should you desire an ear..
Reyna Varinia Reiruno: "Really..." She
seems surprised. "Then defeating the algorithm HAS to be the key to it all." She
lights another cigarette, considering.
Reyna Varinia Reiruno: She smiles a
little. "Thanks, Ingvar...I appreciate it. I don't know what there is to talk
about, though."
Ingvar Urgahaldt: Neither do I most of the
time. The rest of you seem unaware that swallowing the depredations of the world
and suppressing your feelings into a small black diamond of hate and bitterness
is the way we should go about things. *He waves magnanimously, a slight smile
floating under hard but not unattractive features.* I adjust appropriately.
Reyna Varinia Reiruno: She chuckles at
that. "I think you just broke the sarcasm machine on that one, hon. No, I'm
just...I don't know how I feel. Part of me, most of me, wants to see him face
justice--a FAIR justice, mind you--so he can stop running. Another part of me
wants to help him escape, because he's already seen more then enough torture to
pay for what he did. And another part of me wants to go with him."
Reyna Varinia Reiruno: She considers,
smiling a tiny bit, and adds one more. "And yet a last part of me wants to run
away myself, and never look back from this city. That's the dumbest part,
though. Or maybe the smartest."
Ingvar Urgahaldt: The turmoil of
conflicting emotions.. *He nods slightly, eyes distant for a moment as he
speaks.* I do not envy you this. Something I have found though.. if one choses
to be one thing, and is that thing every day, it eases a bit of this turmoil. If
you find yourself able to apply consistency to your actions.. how you aquit
yourself.. you will find that half of the problem is taken care of. For my part,
the degree to which you are able to apply yourself to a goal I have found rather
impressive in light of.. no offense, but.. what you are.
Ingvar Urgahaldt: Of course, on the other
hand.. should you take your last choice, I insist upon a ride to virginia. Just
something to keep in mind.
Reyna Varinia Reiruno: She chuckles at
that. "Well, I appreciate the compliment. I gotta ask, though...did you get
screwed over by a Nuwisha at some point or something, hon? Sure, we're a bunch
of jokers, but we're not completely flighty...not most of us, anyway. Just a few
of us that give the rest a reputation."
Ingvar Urgahaldt: No. I have actually
never personally met a Nuwisha. The extent of my knowledge of your people
consists mostly of.. *he shakes his head, canting an eyebrow as though
remembering his suprise upon discovering what she was.* Legend. Much of it
fanciful, and all of it reinforced by very angry, loud, old men who were very
quick to reinforce the idea that a Nuwisha, if they yet exist, do so only to
sabotage anything near them, and Shadow Lords exclusively. They are... *he
pauses, chewing on something.* somewhat somewhat disinclined to questions
regarding their lessons.
Reyna Varinia Reiruno: She grins. "Aww,
that's because Lords make the second most needing of a good prank, behind the
Fangs...no offense intended, of course. You're one of the good ones, although
you have no idea what kinds of things I had planned for you after our first
couple encounters." She grins, and leaves it at that for that particular bit.
"We teach humility, as Father Coyote asks, with our own special brand of humor.
Sometimes, we learn a few lessons ourselves, too."
Ingvar Urgahaldt: *He glances at her,
slightly askance.. as though in his world such a threat carries far more
weight..* I do not suppose you would consider simply speaking to me outright,
should you find me in need of humility...
Ingvar Urgahaldt: So.. you do not as a
rule actively seek to drive the targets of your humor into Thrall? *He seems
legitimately suprised.*
Reyna Varinia Reiruno: She chuckles.
"Relax, hon. We've gotten past the pranking stage. Otherwise, you'd have already
gotten a few lessons, and I imagine I'd be hiding out from you at the moment."
Reyna Varinia Reiruno: "Earth Mother, no."
She looks shocked at that. "I'm sure it's happened when someone took something
too far or someone reacted too badly to an innocuous prank, but we sure as hell
don't like driving Garou into Worm's hands. Wow, we DO have a reputation, don't
we?"
Ingvar Urgahaldt: *He nods, a bit of
relief evident behind the expression.* Splendid. I am glad to hear it. Tell me.
*He leans foreward slightly.* Do your people have auspices? Differing camps?
Ingvar Urgahaldt: Mephistopheles is
considered a base lummox compared to even the garden variety of your people, at
least in the manner I was taught.. you are painted as quite the devils. *He
cants an eyebrow, nodding slightly.*
Reyna Varinia Reiruno: "No, and...yes?"
She seems to get the gist of the term 'camps,' if not the exact meaning. "We're
all born under the New Moon...Ragabash, I think it is. We do have
different...factions, I guess in the Nuwisha. One main one. The Umbral Dancers.
According to our stories, we were the first of the shifters to know how to enter
the Umbra, and we taught the others. As such, most of our Tribe exist on the
other side of the Gauntlet, protecting what hasn't been corrupted or held in
stasis from those who would despoil it."
Reyna Varinia Reiruno: "No, and...yes?"

Ingvar Urgahaldt: *THis perks him up a
bit.* So you have a greater than ordinary grasp of the Umbra? You know.. the
majority of Schondorf's work takes place in pocket dimensions.. do you find it
easy to enter such as this?
Reyna Varinia Reiruno: "I'd imagine the
Lords aren't fans of us, as I said." She shrugs. "Not too terrible surprising, I
guess. Your people are good at the muck-raking."
Reyna Varinia Reiruno: "And that's not
an insult, the muck-raking comment," she adds. "Just a fact as I understand it.
It explains a lot, too."
Reyna Varinia Reiruno: "I'm not an Umbral
Dancer, no. My father is, though. He taught me enough to know my base way
around, then left me to follow my own path to Coyote."
Ingvar Urgahaldt: *He shakes his head.*
Not at all. I am quite aware of the proclivities of much of my tribe. Knowledge
is power. Apparently, some mistake this for simple blackmail being ever an
acceptable means to an end.
Reyna Varinia Reiruno: ((I'd LOVE to
continue this scene, 'cause it's awesome, but I'm starting to give into slumber.
Wanna pause and pick it up tomorrow, if you're available?))
Ingvar Urgahaldt: *He nods to this, still considering the woman with slightly narrowed eyes.* Allow me to broach what may be a sensitive subject.. Angelia carries the "Rose" between Karlos and Malcom. As they are both now corrupted, it seems rather dangerous to have a Glass Walker- whom we know is more susceptible to the bane than others- carrying our only link to them. I do not know that Karlos would be able to corrupt her through it, but the chance is rather steep a risk. Would ~you~ be willing to take this burden?
Ingvar Urgahaldt: ((sure thing! Any
time things drag out, let me know too.*G* I tend to not stop from time to time.
See you later, man.))
Reyna Varinia Reiruno: ((Posting one more,
then I'll see you later.))
Reyna Varinia Reiruno: She smiles.
"Sweetie, I've already got it myself. Lady Whitesnake. Adam had it, but he
transferred it over to me a couple of months ago, during the whole Los thing."
She smiles a little. "I'll do my best to keep Angelia sane...we've been doing
enough of that for each other this year. And there's no way in hell I'm letting
her go all baney. I'll keep my eye on her." ((And now I'm off to bed. Got this
all logged, so we can pick up tomorrow.))
